A leveling kit and a lift kit solve different problems. A leveling kit usually raises the front of a truck enough to reduce factory rake. A lift kit changes more of the truck's height and often more of the suspension system. The right choice depends on tire diameter, wheel offset, towing, ride quality, parking height, install labor, and budget.
For a daily driver, a leveling kit is often the easier compromise. A 1.5 to 2 inch strut spacer or preload collar can improve stance and open room for a moderate all-terrain tire without a long supporting-parts list. The tradeoff: alignment gets touchier as the height climbs, with caster, camber, upper control arm clearance, and CV angle all in play.
A lift kit makes sense when the tire goal or trail use outruns a simple front correction. It buys real room and a taller look, but the bill may grow to include longer shocks, new control arms or knuckles, drop crossmembers, extended brake lines, differential-drop hardware, rear axle blocks with new u-bolts, and a driveshaft angle to manage. That hardware is not just cost; it is install labor and future maintenance.
Decide from the truck's job, not the tallest photo. A tow rig, commuter, trail truck, and show build do not need the same answer. Check total installed cost, alignment specs, wheel offset, warranty posture, shop labor, and whether the seller names the exact truck configuration.
