Buying leveling kits online: measurements to take before you order

A leveling kit should not be ordered from a product photo alone. The useful measurements are simple: hub center to fender lip at all four corners, current tire size, wheel width, wheel offset, and the space between the tire and the tightest contact points. Those numbers make seller claims easier to judge. Fitment Pilot guide with vehicle, part, stock, and seller checks.

Measure on level ground with normal cargo in the truck. If the truck usually carries tools, a topper, a bumper, or towing gear, measure it that way. A truck that sits nose-low when empty may sit differently with real weight in the bed or on the hitch.

The front height target should match the reason for the kit. If the goal is stance, a modest front lift may be enough. If the goal is tire clearance, measure where the tire is actually close: liner, mud flap, body mount, control arm, sway bar, or fender edge. Height alone does not solve every rub point.

Before checkout, match the kit to year, make, model, drivetrain, factory suspension package, included hardware, and alignment expectations. Read return terms before opening the boxes. Suspension parts are heavy, and a wrong kit can be expensive to send back. A good leveling-kit purchase starts with a tape measure, not a coupon.
